Count Down is On!!!

Four days until school is out and I retire for awhile. Crazy!!! I'm going to miss Westmore. It's been a second home to me. But, I am so excited to be home with Cameron and Tyson. Which brings me to my next count down FIVE DAYS UNTIL WE GO TO ITALY!!!!!
(yeah, can you believe it. We are going to Italy.)

We are going with the Jones'. We will be gone for nine days. We fly in to Germany and will spend the day there. Then Tyson's high school buddy served his mission in Italy so his friend Jonathan (Italian) is picking us up in a van and we are going all over Italy. Way fun. We plan on taking loads of pictures so get excited.

The only sad part is that we are leaving Cameron. It will be hard, but he is staying with my parents and they couldn't be more excited about the whole thing.

Graduation!!!!...and other good times!

Hooray! I have officially graduated from BYU! I know graduation took place like two weeks ago, but ever since then I have been Mr. Stay-at-home-and-care-for-Cameron Dad. So I haven't really had any time during the day to post anything. But I finally got him to sleep this afternoon and thought I'd update the blog a little bit. So graduation was long, but splendid. I walked in both the University one and the College of Life Sciences one. Elder David A. Bednar spoke at the big university one. It was fun to go through the whole process and yet, kind of surreal at the same time. I am really going to miss BYU...especially since we will be moving north to the U of U...I know, kind of sad and happy at the same time. My one regret about BYU was that I didn't take any advantage of a study abroad program. They have such renowned programs and I really would have enjoyed it. But anyway, BYU was such a wonderful experience and I am really going to miss it. I don't think there is any place like it in the world. But on to more adventures and more experiences.

Also, I just want to thank everyone who came and sat through the long, long, long ceremonies and also, thanks to those who were able to come to our little BBQ get-together after. Really, without such great support from my loving family and friends I really would not have been able to make it through.

So Cheers!!! to four years down and Cheers!!! to at least four more to go!

In other news, as I mentioned above I have been at home with Cameron every day for the past two weeks. It has been quite the change of lifestyle for me....I went from high stress, busy school to sitting on the couch and twirling a little plastic chain toy above Cameron's head for 8 straight hours. So needless to say, I have been getting a little stir crazy around the house. I have already read a couple books, and National Geographics, and watched every episode on the History Channel, Discovery Channel and the Travel Channel at least three times. So if anyone has any ideas on what else I can do to stay sane, suggestions would be welcome.

Cameron is still as sweet as ever. He is growing by the minute and is so alert and attentive all the time. We got him on film because he has started to roll from his stomach to his back! If I can figure out how to do it, I will post the footage.

Sami has been working extremely hard at school. They are in the middle of testing now and that is always a stressful time. But hopefully, after testing is done, she will be able to relax a little bit as the school year winds down. She will be officially done teaching at Westmore Elementary on May 31st!...But that means that we are going to have to figure out how to move all of here school stuff cluttering up her classroom....and that I am not looking forward to.

In addition to school, she planned a fantastico Cinco de Mayo party this past Monday. We had a big BBQ and played some killer crazy games such as pin the tail on the Gaucho, Taquito toss and Mexican relay. She also made a ghetto...I mean beautiful pinata that we smashed to pieces all for the Laffy Taffy's inside.

In lieu of posting numerous pictures of the Party here, I will just direct any viewers to some of our friend's posts (they beat us to posting pictures). Just go to the blogs of Steve and Allison Tiek, Ben and Sheri Ward, or Dan and Candace Brandt. (Click the links on the side of our blog). But here is a picture of Sami making her sweet pinata!

Well, sorry for such a long post...I just got carried away since we haven't posted in a while. More posts soon!

Brooklyn Weddle & Cameron Jones

So, for those of you that don't know my best friend and I had babies on the same day. Pretty crazy, but way fun. Anyway, Chanel was in town because her brother is getting married in Salt Lake this weekend. We decided to meet at the mall. Then we thought it would be fun to get their picture taken together. So we did. Here are some of my favorites. It was seriously so funny. Cameron really thought the lady was funny. He was given her big smiles. Chanel and I were just cracking up most of the time. The didn't make it through all six sittings, but we still got some good ones.

The Verdict Is: The University of Utah!!!

Today was the fateful day. Sami came running in holding a small envelope with the official stamp of the University of Utah School of Medicine on it. I was unbelievably dismayed, since both of the previous acceptances that I had received were packaged in large packet-like envelopes. So needless to say, the small envelope nearly broke my heart. But Sami was unphased and calmly prodded me to open the letter. So I said, "Well fine, you might as well do it." So she slowly opened the letter and read the words, "Dear Tyson, I am delighted to offer you a position in the August 2008 Freshman Class of the University of Utah School of Medicine."

I couldn't believe it!!! We are in!!! I was completely speechless and so was Sami. It was a huge answer to our prayers and is such an enormous relief. We will be staying in Utah for at least the next four years. So anyway, I just thought that I would post our great news. It is time to celebrate! Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and your prayers on our behalf. We are so grateful!

Happy Easter!

So...Happy Easter to everyone! I know this is a day late...but it took some time to upload some photos from our recent trip to B.C. We had a blast! Between the butt whoopin' I received in golf and the stellar Ensign Easter egg hunt, to the Fran-tabulous Easter feast on Sunday, followed by another delicious dinner at the Jones'...we couldn't have asked for more. I think you will be able to tell that we absolutely had a great time.

Oh and there are some weird pictures on this slide show. Sorry, just ignore them...at the time I was messing around with some of the settings on my camera and took some random photos. Sami just laughs at the fact that I am trying too hard to pick up photography as an amateur hobby. (I am still trying to get her to let me buy a nice new SLR camera...but no luck so far!) I decided to upload the weird photos anyway.

Second Medical School Acceptance

In the past week or so I was notified by the University of Iowa that I was accepted for their medical school entering class of 2008! This was fantastic news and we are very excited to begin to make our decisions about where we are going to end up for the next (at least) four years of our lives. We now have some options...U of I or Texas A&M. As I have been trying to think about where I would rather attend, I can't help but wish that the University of Iowa was located in Texas. I really loved interviewing at both of the schools...so one thing is certain...it is going to be an incredibly difficult decision. While technically Iowa is a better school (ranked consistently in the top 15 medical schools in the country), the weather in Texas is far and away better than the frigid cold of Iowa. And those are only two, fairly minor considerations we are going to have to be looking at in the next few weeks. But as for now we are just going to sit back and enjoy the ride a bit (or try to).
We are still waiting to hear from the University of Utah....a waiting game that has been giving me quite a bit of anxiety in the past few weeks. I keep hearing rumors about when we might hear, rumors which have resulting in me checking the mail at least four times a day....and my email even more. Anyway, what will be will be I guess...I just have to learn some patience and wait it out. Only time till tell.
For now, we are just very grateful and excited that we have been accepted to two fantastic medical schools, and we look forward to our decisions! And if you have any opinion about Texas or Iowa that could help us decide we would really appreciate them, (considering neither Sami or myself has spent more than 24 hours in either place)

Baseball Season has Arrived!!!

Finally...it is here! We have waited all winter...a cold, wet, snowy winter. But baseball has returned! Cameron couldn't wait. He was just begging us to take him out to the ol' ball game. And though it was a little bit cold, he simply loved the whole experience (except for the three or four innings he was asleep). It was a great game, 5-4 BYU beat UVSC, who was somehow threatening to tie it up in the top of the ninth. Anyway, it was just the beginning of a long season, and you can bet that Cameron ill be at every game, cheering (or screamin') the Cougars on. He doesn't realize it yet, but he is destined to play the truly heavenly sport! I think it is time to get him a little glove and ball because we all know it is never too early to start.

Also, I thought I'd post some other pics of the little guy. I think he looks great in the glasses, even though they are a little big for him. Also the church clothes are pretty stylin' as well as his cool little snow hat.

Cameron's Blessing

Today was Cameron's blessing! He actually made it through the whole thing without crying or screaming like a spider monkey. It was so fun to have so much family support. I think we filled the enitre chapel with just Jones' and Rollins'. Cameron has no idea how much he is loved (or what a crazy family he was born into). After the blessing we had everyone over for muffins, fruit and juice. What a mad house. Thanks Steve and Allison for letting us invade your house yet again. It was loads of fun and we feel so blessed. Thanks to everyone that came. (and we missed those of you who couldn't)

Furrrrocious little bear!!!

We just had to post this picture of our little bear. Cameron is growing like it is going out of style and has started to smile alot. He is over ten pounds now and is almost two months old. It has been a crazy two months, but amazingly fun. (Although we do miss our sleep...two to three hours at a time just doesn't cut it) Well, we'll post more pictures and info soon.

Welcome to the World Little Cameron!

Cameron's Album
Well, a little unexpectedly and about 10 days early, Cameron Jones was born on January 7th, 2008!!! Here is a short album of some of the pictures we have taken so far! Much more to come later!
